It doesn’t matter who you are, it doesn’t matter what kind of power you have, and it doesn’t matter if you are a “good person.” If you are caught driving under the influence you will be prosecuted and you will have to repay your debt to society. Unfortunately those lessons were learned later in life by Florida resident Donna Adamczyk.
The 83-year old Palm Coast, Florida resident was recently arrested in Palm Beach, Florida by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Department under suspicion of DUI. After Flagler County Sherriff deputies pulled Adamczyk’s four-door Toyota over on North Ocean Shore Boulevard, officers reported that they could smell alcohol emanating from Adamczyk and from more than six feet away from the vehicle. This arrest occurred on a Wednesday morning.
Officers questioned the driver, who let them know she had four glasses of white wine before getting behind the wheel and had only eaten an egg salad sandwich that day. Deputies had to assist the elderly driver into performing certain field sobriety tests. Adamczyk was placed under arrest after she blew a 0.21 into the breathalyzer, nearly three times the legal limit of .08 for the state of Florida. Adamczyk was booked for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence charges and was released later on that day.
DUI Doesn’t Discriminate
This story out of Florida is a strange one, but it drives home a point, DUI doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t the matter what color your skin is, the type of car you drive, who you are, or even your age. If you are found driving under the influence you will be arrested and you will be prosecuted.
